In early October I posted an entry about tea production in places not normally known for tea production, among them the United States (South Carolina, Hawaii) and England.
As it turns out England is not the only European country where tea is grown. The Gorreana Tea Plantation and Cha Porto Formosa, on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores (which is technically part of Portugal) both grow tea and, in the case of the former, have been doing so for more than a century.
